Slip Stitch Sisterhood
The Slip Stitch Sisterhood began in January of 2015 with a handful of ladies here at Hillcrest Baptist. We all had a desire to reach out to our community. Most of the ladies had never even picked up a crochet hook or strand of yarn - but were willing to learn.
So we started with all of the basics, and worked our way up. Our first objective was to make baby hats to deliver to one of our local hospitals. The ladies worked hard and quickly delivered over 200 hats! Not bad for our first donation!
Since then, we have welcomed new members, added some new projects, and continue to stay busy.
We get together once a week to crochet, fellowship, and have a lot of fun.
Anyone is welcome to join us - no experience is necessary. If you would like to learn, this is a great place to start! Our instructor will be happy to start you off with the basic stitches, how to read a pattern, and help you begin your first project! There are no fees to join and the lessons are completely free. Just bring yourself! If you already know how to crochet or knit, feel free to bring any of your supplies to enjoy the day with us!
Our hope for this ministry is to share the love of Jesus Christ with our donations.
